Diamond Valley Basketball Association is excited to announce that Grant Wallace will be returning as the NBL1 Men’s Head Coach for the 2021 season!
Grant has lead our Senior Men’s program since he joined us in 2018, his long coaching career and vast knowledge of the game has made our NBL1 Men a force to be reckoned with.
“2020 promised us all so much in so many ways. We have spent the two years prior assembling a roster full of past Diamond Valley Eagles players who all wear the Eagles badge proudly, added some high-end experience and scoring to this list and developed a culture for all others to envy!
Our preseason work ethic, chemistry and feel was just what we wanted it to be for a successful Season 2020, and then as we all know 2020 has turned out to be a horror year for all. Yet we remain buoyed by the commitment of our roster to attack Season 2021 with the same, if not better, enthusiasm and vigour befitting the proud flagship for our Association.”
Grant’s Assistant Coaches for the season will be Stephen Evans and Patrick Yu.
“Both have excellent basketball strategic minds and understanding, with good communication skills to teach the game. Most importantly they are great people to be role models and mentors for our Eagles Men’s program.”
Steve Evans is the proud father of our NBL1 women’s athlete Keeley Evans, who will be heading to the USA on the 27th of December 2021 to commence her Collegiate career at Davidson University. Steve was an accomplished SEABL player in his own right with the North East Melbourne Arrows and in the State League with the Coburg Giants.
Patrick Yu is a hugely talented coach and has been heavily involved with the Australian Taiwanese basketball community. Patrick hosted an international tour for the Victorian State U17 High Performance Men’s team in 2019 to Taiwan and joined Grant on the bench throughout the tournament.
The Men’s preseason will commence on the 11th of January 2021 as the team begins to prepare for what should be a fantastic season for our NBL1 Men.
“We all cannot wait to get back on the floor and prepare for NBL1 Season 2021!”
