Former WNBL Braves Centre and sharp shooter Kate Oliver joins Diamond Valley!
Kate returns to Diamond Valley where she played for the State Champ women’s team, in the 2017 SEABL season.
The 6’4 player brings a strong skill set to the Eagles after years of experience playing with Australian teams, AIS, college basketball in the US and time in the WNBL with the Sydney Uni Flames and Melbourne Boomers.
Oliver averaged 18.6 points per game, 9.2 rebounds per game, 1.2 blocks per game and shot 82% from the free throw line – each of those categories ranking her in the top 7 players in the league for the 2020 NBL1 season.
Kate will return to The Valley in March after her season in the Swedish National League concludes with the Norrkoping Dolphins.
The Eagle’s NBL1, coach Dee can’t wait to get Kate on the court, ‘I’m so pleased to see the return of Kate to Diamond Valley for 2022. Her experience, leadership and versatility on the floor is a great asset and I have no doubt she will continue with this year’s form and make a huge impact on the league next year. Kate’s a wonderful teammate and a consistently high performer, and will be a great fit for our young and athletic group moving forward.’
