Cam Willis
For more than a decade, Cam Wallis has been one of the driving forces behind the St Martin Panthers Basketball Club.
Cam joined the committee around 2018 and served until 2023/24, including more than five years as Club President alongside David Hunter. During that time, both Cam and David balanced full-time careers while raising large, sport-loving families, yet continued to dedicate countless volunteer hours to ensuring the Panthers remained a thriving community club.
There were seasons when only a small handful of volunteers were keeping the club running. Cam was one of those people. Whether it was behind-the-scenes administration, supporting coaches and families, solving problems or simply stepping in wherever he was needed, he consistently put the needs of the club ahead of his own.
The Panthers are also deeply personal for Cam. All four of his sons have played for the club since Under 8s, beginning their basketball journey together in Grade 1 with their friendship group. Today, Cam continues to coach the Under 8s while supporting his sons playing across the Under 8, Under 12 and Under 16 age groups. Despite juggling a full-time career and a busy family life filled with basketball, Auskick, school football and Sunday football, Cam continues to generously give his time to the Panthers.
What truly sets Cam apart is not simply the number of hours he has volunteered, but the way he makes people feel. He is known throughout the Panthers community as someone who is kind, approachable and genuinely invested in others. He has built trusted relationships with players, parents and volunteers alike, creating a welcoming environment where families feel connected and valued.
Cam embodies everything the St Martin Panthers stand for: community, friendship and service. His quiet leadership, generosity and unwavering commitment have helped shape the culture of the club, leaving a legacy that will continue to benefit generations of Panthers to come.
