The Diamond Valley Basketball Association (DVBA) has announced a series of significant organisational updates as it prepares for the release of its 2026 Strategic Plan and the celebration of its 50th year. The changes follow an internal review designed to ensure the Association’s structure continues to meet the needs of its rapidly growing community.
DVBA now confirming that the first phase of an organisational restructure is now underway, with a strong focus on enhancing leadership, improving communication and strengthening collaboration across all departments.

As part of the restructure, the Basketball Department has been realigned to provide clear leadership and oversight across all programs, ensuring consistent development pathways and support for players, coaches and staff.
As part of this change, Raquel Connell has been appointed to the newly introduced role of Head of Basketball, where she will oversee:
- Junior Representative (VJBL)
- Programs, Camps & Inclusion
- Development Pathways and Directors of Coaching oversight
The introduction of this role provides an essential leadership layer between management and operational staff, ensuring greater consistency and alignment across the Association’s growing basketball programs.
In a further move to reinforce safe, inclusive and supportive environments across all DVBA programs, the Association will introduce a new Member Welfare & Conduct Officer (Part-Time).
DVBA’s current Co-DOC Michael Fortune will be joined by a new Co-DOC, further solidifying our representative coaching department.
Recruitment for both the Welfare position and the new Co-DOC role is expected to open soon.
A re-fresh and update to the competitions department where DVBA also confirmed the completion of its Competitions Team restructure, the addition and recently appointed part-time position as part of the transition.
Looking towards a growing future, these structural updates mark an important step forward as the Diamond Valley Basketball Association continues to build capacity, enhance program delivery and prepare for long-term growth.
The Association will share further updates as it moves closer to launching its 2026 Strategic Plan and celebrating five decades of basketball in the Diamond Valley community.
