The King’s Birthday long weekend proved to be a memorable one for our Diamond Valley Eagles, with teams competing across three major tournaments and delivering outstanding results against some of the state’s strongest basketball associations.
From the fast-paced action of the Bulleen Tournament, to the competitive Nunawading Tournament and the prestigious National Junior Classic (NJC), Eagles athletes proudly represented the association, showcasing their skill, determination, and commitment to the game.
National Success at the National Junior Classic
Competing against some of the best teams from across Australia, our Eagles were outstanding at the NJC.
- Under 18 Girls 1 – Champions
- Under 12 Boys 1 – Champions
- Under 16 Girls 1 – 4th Place
- Under 16 Boys 1 – 8th Place

To have multiple teams competing deep into one of the country’s premier junior basketball tournaments is an incredible achievement and demonstrates the strength of our development pathway.
Success at the Bulleen Tournament
Our youngest Eagles enjoyed a fantastic weekend at the Bulleen Tournament, with all three Under 10 Boys teams making their mark.
- Under 10 Boys Red – Champions
- Under 10 Boys Green – Champions
- Under 10 Boys White – Runners-Up
The results were a testament to the hard work being done across our junior program and highlighted the exciting talent emerging through the Eagles pathway.
Strong Performances at the Nunawading Tournament
The Eagles continued their winning ways at the Nunawading Tournament, collecting four championship titles across multiple age groups.

Every athlete, coach, team manager, volunteer and family member plays a role in creating opportunities for our young Eagles to develop, compete and grow.
Across all three tournaments, our athletes represented the association with pride, sportsmanship and resilience. Whether standing on the championship podium or competing against the best in the country, every player contributed to a weekend that highlighted the bright future of Eagles basketball.
