Emily has been a referee for over two and a half years and holds a B-grade level. Her journey into refereeing started with her passion for basketball, and she quickly realised it was the perfect fit for her as a job. In addition to refereeing, Emily is still an active player in both Junior and Senior Domestic Competitions at DVBA.

When it comes to choosing her preferred age group to referee, Emily has found it tricky to settle on just one. After consideration, she’s narrowed it down to the U16s and U18s. The higher skill level of the players and the dynamic nature of these games make them particularly appealing to her.

Making new friends in the referee community is a highlight of Emilys, making an already loved job more enjoyable. Refereeing super late games during the week and early Saturday mornings are the hardest part of the job for Emily.

Fun facts – Emily’s favourite things to do to relax are going on holidays and watching Netflix. Her ideal trip would be to tour Europe. Her favourite basketball player is Milla Rock.

Congratulations to Emily Referee of the Month of November, and on your continued journey as a referee!
