For Therma Safe Insulation, inclusion is not about giving people special treatment. It is about making sure everyone has the same opportunity to take part, and recognising that sometimes, that means finding a different way to get there. Diamond Valley Basketball Association (DVBA) is excited to introduce Therma Safe Insulation as the sponsor of the inclusion programs at the Association
Therma Safe Insulation, which works across the industrial and commercial sectors insulating and cladding pipes, vessels, tanks and valves, has become a supporter of DVBA, to help create more opportunities for people of all abilities to get involved in basketball and enjoy being part of a team.
Examples of Therma Safe’s work includes, insulating gas lines at service stations or processing pipes at a chocolate factory, helping ensure materials remain at the correct temperature. But beyond their day-to-day work, the organisation places a strong emphasis on respect, opportunity and working together. Mary Elliott, owner of Therma Safe Insulation explains further, “We believe in giving everyone the same opportunity, treating everyone with respect and working together, even if that requires taking a different path to complete the task.”

That philosophy is also deeply personal.
Growing up surrounded by family and friends with disability, inclusion was simply part of everyday life. Today, with a son who has multiple disabilities, that same approach continues at home. Mary says, “I believe and support the narrative, that every person should be given the same opportunity in social, work and personal environments, and that we should
accommodate changes to make this possible, and sport is one of the best places to create those opportunities.”
At the heart of this partnership is a shared belief that basketball should be a place where everyone feels welcome, supported and able to participate.
Through their support of DVBA’s inclusion programs, Therma Safe Insulations hopes to help remove barriers to participation and encourage more people to get involved, and have a go, build connections and simply enjoy being part of the game.
Through the Association’s inclusion programs, the goal is simple; to create opportunities for people to participate, connect with others and experience the joy of basketball in a welcoming and supportive environment.
